A reformer is one of the most beautiful pieces of equipment in movement. Used well, it builds strength, length and control like nothing else. Used carelessly or not at all, it’s an expensive towel rack.
I started teaching Clinical Pilates in 1999. Since then I’ve taught thousands of sessions and I’ve watched the rise of studio and home reformers with interest— but many people who own one don’t use them anywhere near their potential and studio pilates can be very expensive.
Why not subscribe to my website for on demand classes that you can do whenever you choose and slot them in between more expensive studio sessions?
I am building a library of varied classes for all abilities but if you are not sure where to start why not contact me for a 1:1 session
What’s inside the Reformer Library
-

Full body workout
40-50 minute classes for a full body workout: low back, hips, shoulders, knees. It’s all here with plenty of variety and intensity
-

Foundation
Setup, footwork, breath, alignment. Useful even if you’re not new — most of us have habits worth revising.
-

Physio-led 1:1 recovery
Clinical Reformer — for rehab, recovery, and getting bodies back to where they want to be. Particularly useful around menopause, pre and post surgery, or for persistent pain. These are one to one sessions built around you. Contact me directly to discuss your needs.
What you will need
A reformer — any major brand is fine (Allegro, Reformer 100, Aero Pilates, Megaformer, the new home models from Stott or Balanced Body). A little space around the reformer, a little light, and your water bottle within reach.
Who reformer is for
Anyone who has — or is thinking about getting — a home reformer. The library is built so a complete beginner can start at Foundations and grow into longer sessions, while experienced practitioners can drop straight into all the classes.
If you’re post-surgical, post-natal, or working around a persistent injury, please book a 1:1 first so we can make sure you are doing exercises appropriate for the stage of healing or for the injury or condition that you have. Contact me here to discuss your individial needs and book a 1:1
Join the Movement Membership
The full reformer library plus all the on-demand barre classes, the seasonal programmes, and physio-grade education on injury and recovery. One membership. Built for real bodies, real schedules, and real life.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Almost certainly yes. The principles are the same across machines. I’ll flag anywhere a setup is brand-specific
-
Begin with the Foundations series. Take your time. Don’t skip ahead until the basics feel automatic. You can always book a 1:1 with me to ask any questions and to get to grips with the basics safely
-
Most likely, but please book a 1:1 first. Reformer can be brilliant for rehab when programmed correctly and risky if it’s not. Let’s figure out the right way in for you. After all, this is what I have been doing for almost 30 years!
-
Different. A studio gives you in-person correction; an online library gives you access whenever you want, at a fraction of the cost, with lots of instruction and explanation. Used together they’re powerful, so use te library to top up your studio sessions

Clinical Pilates is a little different to the teaching of Joseph Pilates in that I do not adhere to the rigid programmes or progressions as taught by Joseph Pilates. Rather, I use my physio training to progress exercises, adapt for injury and create programmes appropriate for the stage of healing
